Rams News: Jared Goff Thanks LA After Trade to Detroit

Despite all of the mixed feeling towards him and the trade that sent him away to the Detroit Lions, former Ram Jared Goff didn’t let that stand in the way of showing his appreciation. Wednesday morning he took to Twitter to thank his coaches, fans, and the city of Los Angeles.

Towards the end of his tenure in LA, Goff and head coach Sean McVay were said to need “marriage counseling” and the neither the latter nor Snead would confirm that Goff would be their guy in 2021. Although Goff had voiced that he didn’t want to be in a place that he didn’t feel wanted, it didn’t seem to impact his overall experience in the City of Angels.

“I really enjoyed my time here. I want to leave this on a positive note. Obviously, the ending wasn’t favorable and wasn’t fun. But them drafting me No. 1 overall and bringing me to a city that hasn’t had a football team in a long time, being a part of that rebuild after 2016, being able to help bring L.A. football back to prominence, all that stuff I take extreme pride in. It’s something that I’ll always remember.”

While there has been criticism toward Goff about his performance in the past two seasons, he had shown some flashes of brilliance as well. However, the Rams have shifted in a new direction as they seek to push for a Super Bowl run with newly acquired Matthew Stafford under center.
