After an earlier announcement that they were allowing teams to reopen their facilities, the NFL released a series of protocols to ensure player safety. Among the proposed changes, players will be required to wear masks at all times except when it interferes with “athletic activities”. The thought of football players wearing masks underneath their helmets has some humor to it and makes one wonder why the league doesn’t just design a new helmet that has a full face shield? Regardless, it’s a great sign that the sport is on the comeback trail.

The NBA is also on its way back, and the planning for Orlando has begun. Teams have some decisions to make, as each will have a cap on personnel they can bring with them. With the report that a team can carry 17 players, the Lakers are looking into their two-way contracts to provide support down the final stretch. Kostas Antetokounmpo may be a name to keep an eye on, as he has yet to be provided a real opportunity this season. His numbers in the G-League show that his chance may come sooner rather than later.
