LA Roundup: Vin Scully Adds to His Resume, NFL Camps Close to Returning, Kawhi Called More Clutch than LeBron, and More!

Tuesday was a great day if you’re a Dodgers fan! For starters, long time broadcaster, Vin Scully, was named the biggest icon in LA sports history. He took the honor over Hall of Fame names like Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Jackie Robinson, and more. This goes to show how much he has impacted all of us here in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers also announced that they would not be furloughing any employees during this pandemic. Instead, what they’ve done is announce pay cuts depending on the salary of the employees. The goal was to keep people on payroll while still giving them more than they would receive on unemployment. What a great gesture by one of LA’s great teams.

Tuesday also brought word that NFL minicamps could be returning in the near future. For the Rams and Chargers, this all hinges on what the state decides. But if things go well, the could begin holding practices as early as June! Talk about great news for the return of sports.

The NHL also announced its official plan towards resuming their season today. With the layoff that the pandemic has caused, the league is looking into a jump straight to playoff games. The 24-team tournament that we heard about last week looks to be the official proposal, which unfortunately means that Kings hockey is done for the year.

We end today’s roundup with a rather interesting take from ESPN’s Max Kellerman. He has argued in the past that Kawhi Leonard is more clutch than other all-time great players. He continues to support this claim on First Take and received some interesting feedback on social media as well as his peers. What side are you on? Is Kawhi really more clutch than Kobe and LeBron? Or is he overrated? You tell us!
