Lakers’ star LeBron James is no stranger to lending a helping hand to those in need. Like many other athletes, he’s used his platform to give back to various communities. Of course, James has gone above and beyond by building a public elementary school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio to support disadvantaged youth.
To further help the LeBron James Family Foundation fund services for the kids attending the school, James has aligned himself with Upper Deck to sell his game-worn shoes.
Executive Director of the LeBron James Family Foundation, Michele Campbell, spoke on the initiative saying:
“We’re seeing families struggling every day with very real and often unexpected issues that turn their worlds upside down. It’s our mission to listen and learn about those needs and respond with real, meaningful resources that set their entire families up for success.”
