Swinton has spent time coaching special teams with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016 as well as the Chicago Bears in 2015 and 2017. Staley was a part of the Bears coaching staff in 2017 where the two coached the outside linebackers together. The Chargers will hope to get a huge boost of production to their special teams unit with Swinton leading the way.

In other news, the Bolts have also hired Renaldo Hill as their new defensive coordinator.
Sources: The Chargers are hiring Broncos DBs coach Renaldo Hill as their new defensive coordinator. Hill worked with Brandon Staley in Denver in 2019, played in the league for a decade.

Hill, who has experience working with Staley in 2019, was poached from the Denver Broncos. While this will be his first taste at being a DC, he’ll arrive in Los Angeles with plenty of NFL experience from on time on the turf as well as the sidelines. After spending 10 seasons (2001-2010) in the league as a defensive back, Hill served as a coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, and Denver Broncos. It’s worth noting that Hill’s first season with the Broncos saw the defense ranked 11th overall.
If he can accomplish that in Denver, just imagine what he can do with the amount of talent in the Bolts secondary. The sky could easily be the limit with a duo of him and Staley.
