No team in this college football season has garnered more attention than the Colorado Buffaloes, spearheaded by the legendary NFL Hall of Famer, Deion Sanders.
This Saturday, the high-octane Buffalo offense is gearing up to host the Trojans, led by star quarterback Caleb Williams, in USC’s final visit to Colorado as we know it.
Colorado, fresh off a humbling 42-6 loss to Oregon, has already exceeded expectations this season. They kicked off their campaign with an impressive victory over the then-No. 17-ranked TCU, followed by wins against Nebraska and a thrilling overtime triumph against Colorado State. Meanwhile, USC has been setting the scoreboard on fire, averaging an astounding 55 points per game. The dynamic duo of Head Coach Lincoln Riley and Williams continues to shine, with Riley’s strategic play-calling perfectly complementing Williams’ versatile skillset.
“Everything,” Sanders said on what impresses him about Williams. “The kid is a playmaker. Deserved the Heisman Trophy a year ago, which he secured. I love to see his personality on commercials and in pressers. He’s the epitome of class and confidence in what he brings to the table. He makes plays. He makes that team go. He’s a handful.”

Earlier this week, Sanders met with the press and couldn’t contain his admiration for Williams, both on and off the gridiron. When it comes to Coach Riley, Sanders expressed immense respect and affection for the second-year USC coach, labeling him a “genuine winner.”
“I give (Sanders) credit,” Riley said. “We all know what the rules are. We all know what the parameters are. And our job is to build the best teams that we can for the universities that give us the opportunity to do it. No excuses.”

Looking back to July, Riley publicly acknowledged Sanders for his transformation of the Colorado roster, which had managed just one victory last season. As both programs approach the end of their tenure in the Pac-12 conference, they are set to clash at 9 a.m. PDT this Saturday in what promises to be a captivating showdown.
