USC Football: Trojans Receive Another Commitment from Top Quarterback Prospect

You can now add the Nation’s fifth-ranked quarterback to the Trojan class of 2021.

Miller Moss, who ranks 52nd overall, is a big-time prospect who was being chased by the likes of Alabama, LSU, and UCLA. On Monday afternoon, he declared his decision in the most California way possible.

Scouting Report

So what can USC fans expect out of the 4-star quarterback? For starters, 247Sports national recruiting analyst, Greg Biggins, compared him to the one and only Drew Brees.

  • A pure pocket passer with one of the quickest releases in the country. A very cerebral quarterback with a great feel for the position.
  • Extremely poised and never looks nervous or hurried.
  • Has an advanced feel for throwing with timing and anticipation. Shows good arm strength and can rip throws through tight windows.
  • Can continue to improve athletically but has good pocket mobility, can move around, buy time, and keeps his eyes down the field.
  • Changes speed and throws with touch and is very accurate down the field. Plays with toughness and will stand in the pocket and take a shot to get the ball out.
  • Projects as an impact upper-tier Power 5 starter and future mid-round NFL draft pick.”

This is a huge win for the Trojans on their quest to take back the Pac 12. With Moss on board now, they have two outstanding quarterbacks as a part of their incredible class of 2021. Both Jake Garcia and Miller Moss are fantastic quarterbacks, but there can obviously only be one starter. Odds are that one of them will seek a transfer eventually or recommit, but the options are there. USC is still after much bigger fish, as the nation’s top overall recruit is still out there looking for a home.

The Trojans now hold the 4th best recruiting class for 2021. Who saw that coming?
