USC News: Another Player Commits To Football for the Trojans

The USC football recruiting class was able to land three-star offensive lineman, Saia Mapakaitolo. He was USC football’s 13th player to commit.

Saia Mapakaitolo is a 6’5″ 280-pound lineman. He grew up a USC fan, and when USC made him the offer in January, Mapakaitolo had his mind made up already, saying that USC was his dream school.

Mapakaitolo has a lot of potential; he has versatility because he can play on the left and right side, giving the team more flexibility with the offensive line. The potential will show as Mapakaitolo starts training with the team, and once he gets stronger, this will be great news for the QBs and RBs. Saia Mapakaitolo is a needed offensive tackle for the Trojans, as he would be replacing Tennessee graduate transfer Drew Richmond.

Saia announced his decision on Twitter, thanking his family and coaches. He also added,

“I am excited to announce that I am 100% committed to the University of Southern California!! Fight On!!”

USC was losing to the Oregon Ducks in offensive line recruiting, but Saia’s addition did help the Trojans recruiting class. According to 247Sports composite, Saia ranks 62nd in California and 58th among offensive tackles.
