Rising Star Carson Steele Set to Lead UCLA’s Football Season in Rushing Yards

Former Ball State Phenom and Alligator Enthusiast Takes on New Challenge at UCLA

Even the most casual followers of college football are already familiar with Carson Steele. You know, that strong running back with flowing blonde hair and an unusual pet alligator named Crocky-J?

Steele made quite a name for himself during his time at Ball State, gaining a devoted following. As a freshman, he racked up an impressive 891 yards and scored 6 touchdowns. In his sophomore year, Steele’s performance dazzled in the MAC conference, with a remarkable 1,556 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Recently, he made the leap to UCLA, answering their call for fresh talent out West.

Journalist Jesse Simonton from On3.com recently released an article with ten daring predictions for the upcoming college football season. One of these predictions centers around none other than Steele himself. According to Simonton’s analysis, Steele won’t just make an impact as a transfer player in Division 1; he’s expected to outshine all Power 5 tailbacks in rushing yards. Simonton goes on to explain that Steele is likely to face competition from sophomore T.J. Harden for carries. Harden might have less experience than Steele, but he’s still a skilled player in his own right. However, all eyes have been on Steele due to his strong preseason performance. Standing at 6’1″ and weighing 225 pounds, he’s not only likable but also a beast in the gym.

Drawing from their playbook last year, UCLA is likely to follow a similar strategy. Much like Charbonnet’s partnership with Brittain Brown in 2021, Steele and Harden could share carries in a 60/40 split, depending on injuries and circumstances. Yet, this duo is easily among the finest on the West Coast, if not the entire country.

“Steele will share carries with T.J. Harden, but in Kelly’s run-heavy scheme, there are plenty of touches to replace with Zach Charbonnet and Dorian Thompson-Robinson no longer in Westwood. Steele will be a keystone piece of UCLA’s offense.”

As the football season looms ahead, all eyes are on Carson Steele as he embarks on this exciting new chapter of his athletic career with UCLA.
