UCLA Football Makes Class of 2024 O-Lineman Nathan Roy’s Top 7

The offensive tackle made the Bruins a semifinalist in his recruitment just 10 days after the team made him an offer.

The Bruins have advanced to the next stage in their recruitment of one of the top players in the Midwest.

Class of 2024 offensive tackle Nathan Roy became the latest prospect to include UCLA football among his semifinalists when he announced his top seven Thursday on Twitter. The Mukwonago (WI) lineman picked up his offer from offensive line coach Tim Drevno on Feb. 6, and the Bruins are still knee-deep the race for his commitment 10 days later.

UCLA is joined by Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Tennessee, Wisconsin and USC in Roy’s top seven.

Roy had previously earned other Division I offers from Central Michigan, Iowa State, Penn State, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Purdue, Indiana, Syracuse, Miami (FL), Tennessee, Kentucky and Oklahoma.

In 2021, Roy won offensive line MVP at the National Preps Showcase and from there, his recruitment started to heat up. The Henderson, Nevada, native has participated in training camps across the nation, building up steam along the way.

The junior helped lead Mukwonago to a 12-2 record and a 6-1 division record in 2022, good enough to finish the year as the No. 2 team in Wisconsin. The AP also named Roy to its All-State First Team in 2022.

Roy is a three-sport athlete at Mukwonago, additionally competing for its basketball and track & field teams. He is also the brother of rising redshirt sophomore Benjamin Roy Jr., who arrived in Westwood in 2021.

Rivals, On3 and the 247Sports Composite have Roy listed as a four-star prospect, while 247Sports and ESPN have the 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman pegged as a three-star recruit. Roy is ranked as the No. 3 player in Wisconsin, the No. 10 offensive lineman in the country and the No. 185 overall player in his class.

Four-star offensive tackles Brandon Baker, Isaiah Garcia, Justin Tauanuu and Manasse Itete have all been offered by the Bruins as well, with Itete including UCLA among his top 10 contenders Wednesday evening.

Three-star offensive tackle Joshua Glanz, meanwhile, joined the Bruins’ 2024 recruiting class on Jan. 29, adding to the commitment they had already picked up from four-star defensive back Khristian Dunbar-Hawkins earlier in the month. The two-member class currently ranks No. 31 in the country and No. 6 in the Pac-12.

Old Dominion transfer Khadere Kounta and rising redshirt sophomore Garrett DiGiorgio are expected to be UCLA’s two starting tackles this season, but there isn’t much depth behind them that can be expected to ascend through the ranks in the coming years.
