UCLA News: Bruins Receive Commitment from Three-Star QB Kajiya Hollawayne

UCLA hasn’t had the best recruiting season for 2021. Their recruiting class ranks 64th in the nation and only 5th in the Pac-12 way behind rival USC which ranks 4th in the nation and 1st in the Pac-12. The Bruins possibly received their biggest boost of the year with the commitment of three-star and 20th-ranked dual-threat quarterback Kajiya Hollawayne.

He is just the sixth commit to UCLA’s 2021 reciting class but it could be its biggest yet. The San Jacinto native has produced well in his first three years of high school racking up 6,780 passing yards with 64 touchdowns as well as 1,871 rushing yards accompanied by 28 touchdowns.

While he had scholarships to other schools such as Northwestern, Fresno State, San Diego State, etc. he chose UCLA just days after Miller Moss who UCLA was also trying to recruit, verbally committed to the Trojans.

The 6’2, 195-pound has one of the strongest arms in the country who has the potential to shine at the next level.  He has the speed and athleticism to work his way up the field with his legs.

With no clear future at quarterback for UCLA in the next couple of years, Hollawayne could certainly solidify the quarterback position for the Bruins.
