Rams Remorse? Jalen Hurts Pro Bowl Replacement: Former L.A. QB

While Jared Goff is no longer a member of the Rams, he continues to show he is a reliable quarterback.

When the Los Angeles Rams traded with the Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford – in exchange for Jared Goff – it was done with the hope that it would get them over the hump and help bring home a Super Bowl.

Well, Stafford did just that in his first season as he led a potent Rams offense and lifted the Lombardi Trophy in their home stadium. Goff, on the other hand, was on a Lions team clearly rebuilding.

Their second seasons, though, were the opposite as Stafford missed time due to an injury while Goff led the Lions to a near playoff berth

Goff’s successful 2022 season and Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl now means that Goff himself is a Pro Bowl quarterback. This is Goff’s third Pro Bowl nod, and his first since going in back-to-back years in 2017-18.

Goff completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 4,438 yards with 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 17 games. He didn’t throw an interception after Week 9, tossing 15 touchdowns on his 312 passing attempts in Detroit’s last nine games.

Despite entering Detroit in what seemed to be a rebuild, under Goff the Lions offense has been one of the best in the NFL while he looks to prove he can still be a franchise quarterback.
