Although we all could have seen this coming, it doesn’t make it any less painful. Former safety John Johnson will be leaving Los Angeles and heading to Cleveland, Ohio. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Johnson and the Browns are in agreement on a three-year deal worth $33.75 million.

Losing Johnson is a big blow to the Rams’ defense, but the Rams just couldn’t compete to keep his talents as they have their hands full with the cap space crisis. The 25-year old was drafted in the third-round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Rams. In four seasons with Los Angeles, he collected 8 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, 32 pass deflections, and 350 total tackles (8 for a loss).

Johnson figures to play a vital role for the Browns in the same way that he did for the Rams. Despite his departure, the Rams should have more than enough talent to compete this upcoming season once again. Best of luck to him on his new chapter!
