Rams News: Former LA RB Todd Gurley Calls Out Old Team

When the announcement came that the Los Angeles Rams had released running back Todd Gurley, it came to a big surprise to some Rams fans. Disappointment came from not only the fans, but also Gurley himself.

Posting messages onto his social media accounts was one to deal with the news, but what comes next for him was anyone’s guess except for pleading Atlanta Falcons fans. To no one’s surprise, Gurley signed with his hometown team the Atlanta Falcons on a one-year contact that included a $2 million signing bonus and $3.5 million guaranteed base salary just 17 days after the Rams released him.

The Los Angeles Rams were still responsible for $5.05 million of Gurley’s contract in which he signed in. That portion of his contract was of a guaranteed roster bonus that was not covered by offsets. Hence, comes the comment that Gurley sent out earlier today on Twitter:

And of course, replies came. But the retweet with comment next is even more surprising:

Clay Matthews was also released by the Los Angeles Rams just after one season with the team. Matthews was released the same time that Gurley was.

One can only imagine what kind of issues how going on internally within the team that would lead to such a public display of frustration from both former Rams players. From the looks of it, we might get a public answer soon.
