The sports world took a serious hit this week with the passing of Dodgers legend, Tommy Lasorda. The former player, scout, and manager gave 71 years to the Dodgers organization, and his passion for the game helped multiple generations of fans identify with the sport we all love. Fans from all aspects of the game have joined the Dodgers in mourning his passing, but the memories that he left will always be his legacy in the city of Angels.

The Dodgers finally made a headline move this week by bringing back reliever Blake Treinen on a two-year deal. The hard-throwing righty helped the Dodgers win their first World Series since 1988, and he should be a crucial piece for their bullpen once again in 2021.

In football news, the two franchises in LA are in two very different places are the first week of playoff games comes to a close. The Rams are turning their attention to the Green Bay Packers and their division round matchup next Saturday while the Chargers are deep in their search for a new head coach after parting ways with Anthony Lynn. The Rams are dealing with a slew of injuries, most notably with their two quarterbacks. Jared Goff is still recovering from surgery on his thumb, but that didn’t stop him from leading his team to a win over the rival Seahawks after John Wolford went down in the first quarter with a neck injury.
