LA Roundup: How Joe Davis Got His Big Break, Terrell Burgess and What He Brings to the Rams, and More!
Saturday was a slow day for sports news, and rightfully so as discussions are being held behind closed doors. As leagues move closer and closer to an eventual return, we are left wondering what these scenarios will look like. In the meantime, we took a look at two important people here in LA and what they bring to the table.
In a recent episode of his ‘Off Air’ Podcast with Orel Hershiser, Joe Davis broke down his path to the big leagues. Now obviously we aren’t talking about his playing days. Davis gave the play by play leading to the day that he became the heir apparent to the legendary Vin Scully. David had quite the journey to get where he is now, but Dodgers fans are thankful for his love of the game and colorful broadcasts. Following Vin is as tough as it gets, but he has made it look easy so far.
Meanwhile, the Rams have received some reinforcements as well. Safety Terrell Burgess, who LA selected with their 104th pick in the draft, figures to play a big role this upcoming season. Burgess was a player of all trades at Utah, and figures to do the same with the Rams. His athleticism and versatility is going to be an asset for years to come, and fans are going to love watching him play.
