Saturday provided little in the way of breaking news, but allowed us to look at our home teams a little closer.
There have been rumblings around the NBA that the Lakers should consider moving on from their starting forward Danny Green. While the reasons for this may vary depending on who you listen to, the fact remains that players like Green are highly coveted. Arguments can be made on both sides, but ultimately the choice belongs to Pelinka and Jeanie Buss. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds in store for Green and if the season is even resumed.
Nike also offered Lakers fans a bit of good news by quietly dropping a new Kobe shoe line. After Kobe’s passing, fans throughout the world bought up any merchandise they could find. These shoes offer the first chance at something new for fans to buy and they are expected to sell out fast.
In soccer news, some rather interesting news came out on LAFC star Carlos Vela. According to surveys, Vela is the third most popular athlete in LA behind Lebron James and Cody Bellinger. To be ranked that highly in a city of big names is truly an accomplishment for the Mexican superstar. The LAFC have taken both LA and the MLS by storm, thanks in part to Vela’s contributions.
