Former Lakers Star Nick Young Competes for Championship in Big3 Club’s Victory

Nick Young's Big3 team, the Enemies, triumphs over Trilogy with eyes set on the championship title.

Former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard, Nick Young, who previously clinched an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2018, is back in the game, striving for yet another title.

The 6’7″ swingman, hailing from USC’s Big3 squad known as the Enemies, triumphed over the Trilogy in an intense 3-on-3 competition orchestrated by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz. The final score was 50-37 in favor of the Enemies. The league’s playoff structure consists of two rounds, including a final four matchup and the championship game itself.

Young’s squad, the Enemies, boasts a lineup that includes Jordan Crawford, Isaiah Austin, Elijah Stewart, Quincy Miller, and of course, Young himself. The former NBA star is not only part of the team but is also under the guidance of ex-Washington Wizards All-Star point guard, Gilbert Arenas, who serves as the coach.

Nick Young, a familiar face from his four-season stint with the Lakers between 2013 and 2017, played a pivotal role during the club’s post-playoffs era. Over 220 regular season games with the Los Angeles team, he showcased his skills by averaging 13.1 points per game with shooting splits of .405/.377/.846, alongside 2.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist, and 0.6 steals on average.

Although Young didn’t contribute directly to his team’s recent victory (as Jordan Crawford led the Enemies with a remarkable 27 points), hopes are high that he’ll have a more impactful role in the upcoming final against the Triplets. The Triplets, led by seven-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson on the court and coached by former Los Angeles Sparks standout Lisa Leslie, will present a formidable challenge.

Mark your calendars for the grand finale, scheduled to take place at London’s renowned O2 Arena next Saturday, August 26th. It’s a showdown you won’t want to miss as Nick Young and his Enemies battle against the Triplets for the championship title.
