Lakers: Watch Austin Reaves Get Into Altercation With Mavericks’ Josh Green

A battle of reserve shooting guards!

While trying to sell a somewhat gratuitous flop against Dallas Mavericks bench shooting guard Josh Green yesterday, Los Angeles Lakers backup two Austin Reaves took umbrage.

The 6’5″ wing stepped into Green’s face and at one point yelled “You aint’ s***, I’ll f*** you up” to the Mavs’ upstart young swingman. They were separated by teammates before things escalated to a physical level.

Reaves later chatted with gathered reporters about their fight while in the American Airlines Arena visitors’ locker room, and opted to be relatively silent about exactly what Green said to get him all riled up.

“We [were] just playing basketball, competing, so it’s a fun part about the game,” Reaves revealed. “I feel like I always play with hight intensity. I try to play every game like it’s my last, something was said and I didn’t really like it… It was a good basketball game.”

When asked what was said, Reaves simply responded with a joking, “I don’t remember.”

In 27:17 for the night, Reaves scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor and dished out three assists, while supplying his typically chippy standoffishness, as evinced by this not-quite-fight with Green.

The Lakers would go on to win the game, 111-108, to improve to a 29-32 record on the season with plenty of Western Conference standings jockeying left to do.
