Lakers Injury Report: Several Warriors Champs Out Tonight Against Los Angeles

A lucky break for a Lake Show desperate for Ws.

Tonight, your Los Angeles Lakers are set to once again be the beneficiaries of some major injury absences for their opponents, in this case the visiting Golden State Warriors.

According to the league’s latest injury report, key 2022 championship contributors Gary Payton II (sore right adductor) and Andrew Wiggins (personal reasons), along with All-Star point guard Stephen Curry (left leg injuries) and little-used reserve wing Andre Iguodala (right hip soreness), will all miss the action this evening.

Rookie shooting guard Ryan Rollins had a season-ending surgery to repair a fracture in his right foot earlier this month, after appearing in just 12 games for Golden State.

On the Lakers’ side, the team’s three rookies (shooting guard Max Christie, plus two-way players Scotty Pippen Jr. and Cole Swider) are all with their NBAGL affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Anthony Davis (right foot stress injury recovery) and All-Star forward LeBron James (left foot soreness, right hand contusion) are both considered probable to play through their ailments during the first bout of this 23-game home stretch of the 2022-23 NBA season.

At 27-32, Los Angeles could use all the injury luck it can get, so if that means absences to two starters, in Curry and Wiggins, and a critical role player in Payton, that could be just what the club needs to secure a victory tonight.
