Lakers News: LeBron James Provides Update On Foot Injury

The All-Star Lakers forward recently missed three games with the ailment.

19-time All-Star Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James suited up for his first game since last week on Wednesday night, chipping in 21 points on 50% shooting, in a commanding 120-102 LA win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

He has been battling a sore left foot for several weeks, and it has been suggested that the pain could linger for the rest of the season.

James relayed his sense of relief when imaging on that pesky left foot indicated that he had not suffered a severe long-term injury.

“Just, you know, [I was glad] that there was structural damage, no stress reaction or stress fracture, no bone chips or breaks or anything like that,” James said. “It was just something that had to just… calm down from last Tuesday, so I was able to obviously not stress it as much because I haven’t been able to play the last couple of games, our last three games I believe it was.”

“Got some really good work in in Portland [ahead of the team’s loss to the Trail Blazers on Saturday],” James said. “Felt confident that I could go tonight after getting some great work this morning on the court. Felt pretty good about it. My ankle and my foot feel pretty good right now, so it’s a good start.”
