Lakers News: Anthony Davis Reveals Reason for Sitting During LeBron’s Record-Breaking Shot

The moment caused a lot of drama.

Anthony Davis caused a lot of drama when he was found sitting during the shot that made LeBron James the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. While everyone in the building was standing awaiting the historic moment, Davis was on the bench, and took a seat before the moment occurred. Here’s a video of the moment from the behind-the-bench perspective:

While the moment put social media into a frenzy, Anthony Davis was able to clarify exactly what happened following a game last week. He didn’t want to answer the question, but was nice enough to share his reasoning for sitting during the special moment.

“Ya’ll know me and Bron’s relationship,” Davis said. “I was sad about the game. I mean, you lose to Oklahoma City Thunder, a game we needed. And I was pissed off that we were losing. It’s that simple. I mean, it’s nothing that had to do with Bron. He knows that…I was pissed off that we were losing the game.”

Real fans knew that the moment had nothing to do with the relationship between Davis and James, however, it was a little weird to see him sit down in such a big moment. But it’s nice to know exactly what happened, and see how much Davis wanted to win that very important game.

It seemed like everyone on the Lakers was more focused on LeBron getting the record, which definitely contributed to them dropping a game they needed to win. But luckily, the record is finally in the rearview mirror, and now everyone on the team can focus on winning basketball games during the second-half of the season.
