Lakers Injury News: LeBron James Status Updated for Final Game Before All-Star Break

The Lakers desperately need a win against the Pelicans.

Your 26-32 Los Angeles Lakers are playing one of their most important games of the season on Wednesday when the welcome the New Orleans Pelicans into the Crypto.com Arena. The Pelicans currently sit as the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference, just four games ahead of the Lakers at the No. 13 seed. The Lakers desperately need to get some wins against teams above them in the West, and tonight would be a perfect time to do it.

And the good news is, LeBron James will be available for his first game in a week, per Marc Stein! Accordingly, today will also mark his first time on the court with all the new players LA acquired last week.

LeBron was questionable to play all day with his lingering left ankle injury, one that has kept him out of the lineup the last three games.

The Lakers were 1-2 without him in the lineup across his last three absences, and desperately needed him to return tonight.

Outside of LeBron, everyone is healthy and in, including Mo Bamba, who will be making his LA debut after finishing up his four-game suspension. He’ll likely come off the bench as a backup big, and should hold down the paint and stretch the floor on offense.

As for the New Orleans Pelicans, the league’s latest injury report reveals that CJ McCollum will be able to suit up, after formerly being considered questionable. Ex-Laker Larry Nance Jr. has been downgraded to unavailable.
