Lakers News: Betting Odds And Lines Ahead Of Play-In Push Against Pelicans

Gambling on LA-NOLA.

Tonight, your Los Angeles Lakers will play host to the slumping New Orleans Pelicans (4-6 in their last 10, having fallen to the seventh seed after formerly floating near the top of the West when Zion Williamson was healthy). Will LA, at 26-32, be able to secure a much-needed victory tonight? I doubt it. But there are still plenty of additional, more positive Lakers-centric numbers on which to bet (in applicable markets, of course).

These numbers arrive courtesy of The Action Network.

The Game Spread

The Lakers are actually 5.5-point favorites tonight, with the status of LeBron James still up in the air. I am skeptical the currently-questionable 19-time All-Star will want to risk sitting out All-Star Weekend festivities in Salt Lake City, as he loves to be the center of that universe among his fellow NBA greats. To that end, while he nurses a sore left ankle, I think he’ll take it easy and sit out. Thus, take the Pelicans to beat the spread.

D’Angelo Russell’s Made Three-Pointers

Why you can bet on minimum-salaried Dennis Schroder in this category but not Malik Beasley, one of the league’s most frequent three-point shooters this season, is a mystery to me. I’ll bet on the more-reliable D-Lo over Schroder here. His over/under tonight is 2.5 triples. Take the over. LA fans will need to hope he hits it if they want to see a win at Crypto.com Arena.

Anthony Davis’s Double-Double Odds

Double-double machine Anthony Davis is listed with -220 odds here. The guy has notched seven double-doubles of points and rebounds across the nine games he’s played since returning from his right foot stress injury. And for the year is averaging a double-double of 25.9 points and 12.4 rebounds.
