Lakers News: LeBron James Spotted At Super Bowl LVII

The LA All-Star is taking in the action in Arizona.

19-time Los Angeles Lakers All-Star LeBron James and his wife Savannah are in Glendale, Arizona to take in the action for Super Bowl LVII, which pits the Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs against Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.

It appears the Jameses coordinated their eyewear. As for which team he’s rooting for, that’s unclear, given that the Akron native’s team by geography would be the Cleveland Browns.

He sure seems to dig the Eagles’ dynamic young quarterback, though:

James has been sidelined for LA since last Tuesday with a sore left ankle, which apparently could be a problem for much of the home stretch of the 2022-23 NBA season. He is considered questionable for tomorrow’s matchup against the reeling Portland Trail Blazers.

Portland should be fairly beatable for a much deeper LA team even without James. The Trail Blazers took a significant step back at the trade deadline when they shipped out Josh Hart in return for one-way player Matisse Thybulle, plus young projects Cam Reddish and Ryan Arcidiacono, a lottery-protected first round draft pick, and the draft rights to international center Ante Tomic.

Portland also added another underperforming recent lottery pick a la Reddish, Kevin Knox, as well as five second-round draft picks, in a separate deal. The team seems to be prioritizing future draft equity over and developmental pieces over win-now players, which surely must not sit well with 32-year-old All-Star point guard Damian Lillard.
