Lakers: Watch Ageless LeBron James Throw Down One-Handed Dunk Against Pelicans

The Chosen One is looking sharp.

Tonight, your Los Angeles Lakers appear well on their way to handing the New Orleans their 11th consecutive defeat.

19-time All-Star LA power forward LeBron James continues to prove why he’s a 19-time All-Star. He’s got 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting through the game’s first half (which have put him just 51 points away from nabbing the NBA’s all-time regular season scoring record), along with five rebounds. Two of those points were recorded in a most explosive fashion.

Starting Los Angeles point guard Dennis Schröder swiped the rock from ex-Lakers power forward Brandon Ingram (a casualty of the Anthony Davis deal back in 2019) and sprinted down the floor, feeding a trailing James in the paint for this remarkable one-handed slam dunk:

At age 38, playing in his 20th NBA season, King James seems undeterred by the ravages of time. The third-oldest player in the league’s ability to elevate above the opposition remains relatively undiminished despite his advanced years. The 6’9″ vet remains utterly lethal when he’s got a head of steam in transition, and it’s remarkable to, well, witness. James has lately been allocating too much of his shot diet to outside takes. These moments highlight just how valuable his interior offense can still be.

LA is looking to secure its third straight win today, while in the midst of a five-game road trip. A victory would help the Lakers draw even with the Pelicans, giving both clubs identical 26-28 records on the season.
