Maybe we could see him back on a court soon.
The good news on Anthony Davis’ foot keeps rolling in. On December 16, Davis suffered an injury to his right foot, that has kept him out indefinitely. There were fears that the injury was more severe than LA was letting on, but on Wednesday, head coach Darvin Ham provided another promising update on Davis.
“He’s going right according to plan,” Ham said.
That came just hours after ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi reported that the Lakers were encouraged with the progress that Davis was making. Here’s what Ham said about the recent MRI Davis had to check in on the foot.
“It’s right on pace with what we thought it’d be.”
That’s great news for the Lakers, who would love to have their All-Star big man back sooner rather than later. Davis was playing at an MVP-level before he went down with the injury, and will be a huge boost to a Lakers team that’s suddenly climbing their way up the Western Conference standings.
Also, we’re just a month away from the trade deadline, and the sooner AD gets back on the court, the more pressure the front office will feel to make a win-now move.
All the updates we’ve received on AD have been positive. Let’s hope it stays that way as he nears a return to the court.
