Lakers: LeBron James Records Double-Digit Scoring in 1,000 Straight Games

After winning the NBA title in 2020, the Lakers revamped their whole roster in an attempt to repeat in 2021. Yes, they’ve let some crucial pieces walk in free agency, but they countered that with moves for players like Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schröder, Marc Gasol, etc. It also doesn’t help when you have a team lead by the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The former has had a storied career thus far and has only added to it year in and year out. James continued that trend during Wednesday night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs. During the second quarter of the game, James reached 1,000 straight games with 10+ points.

LeBron is the NBA’s first-ever player to achieve such an accomplishment. The next closest player to that mark is Michael Jordan who racked up only 866 straight games. James, who recently turned 36, still has a lot in the tank in terms of scoring. He ranks third on the all-time points lists behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone. It’ll be interesting to see how long James can keep up the streak and if he can use the streak to move up any further on the list.
