Lakers News: Lebron James’ New Docu-Series Upsets Astros’ Bregman, Leads to Him Seeking New Agent

The reach that LeBron James has is immeasurable. Not only does he impact the NBA world, he apparently has had some influence on the MLB as well.

It has been well documented that James’ media company, Uninterrupted, is working on a series based on the sign-stealing allegations against the 2017 Astros. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic is now reporting that this may have led to Alex Bregman leaving his agent, Brodie Scoffield. How do the two intertwine? Allow us to break things down for you.

Klutch Sports is perhaps the most famous company attached to LeBron James. This is the agency run by his personal agent, Rich Paul. However, the brand does not stop there. Klutch has many companies that operate beneath it, branching out into different sports, businesses, and even, you guessed it, media companies. Alex Bregman’s agent was the latest to enter the Klutch fold, as his agency became a part of the sports mega-company. This alone isn’t breaking news, but there’s more to the story than that.

When news of the Astro’s scandal broke out, players and fans alike voiced their displeasures, including athletes from other sports. Cheating is universally frowned upon and cheaters are rightfully villainized. After a lackluster punishment for the cheating ‘Stros, even LeBron had to let his feelings be known.

For a usually composed James, those were strong words on the matter. Furthermore, this placed even more heat on the Astros, as an entire sport joined in on the public humiliation. It’s easy to see then, how Bregman could hold it against his former agent for joining LeBron’s empire.

As Rosenthal reports, the series on the cheating scandal may not be the only reason for the split, but it was at the very least the final straw. There was likely tension from many events that led to this point, and Alex finally pulled the plug. In a surprise to absolutely no one, Bregman declined to comment on the matter.

LeBron is a man of many talents, and having an influence on MLB activities is now one of them. It’s safe to say that LA sports fans won’t lose any sleep over Bregman’s hurt feelings, they’ll be too busy enjoying a small victory. Even if it holds no real value outside of vengeful justice, this docu-series should turn the heat back onto a team that has done everything to run away from the mess they created.
