NBA News: HORSE Tournament Participants Revealed and Miss Out on Laker Personalities

The NBA has found a way to keep basketball fans happy in a way that doesn’t deal with video games or constant replaying of older games with a simple, yet kind of complex, tournament of HORSE.

The NBA announced a two day tournament starting Sunday, April 12. The tournament will commence on April 16th with the semifinals and finals on the same day. Both days of the tournament will be streaming on ESPN and the ESPN App. Filming of the games will be very unique as players will be filmed at the players’ home locations or at an indoor/outdoor court. Of course all the standard traditional HORSE game rules will apply.

The contest includes, to a surprise, both active and former NBA and WNBA players. The most notable of the stars will be Chris Paul of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The active NBA stars following Paul are Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks, Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls, Mike Conley from the Utah Jazz, and  Joining the them will be former NBA players Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce.

Joining the men will be former WNBA player Tamika Catchings which played her whole 15-year career for the Indiana Fever along with WNBA star Allie Quigley from the Chicago Sky.

To much disappointment to many NBA/WNBA fans, many stars from popular teams such as the Lakers, Clippers, and Golden State Warriors are not competing. The likes of players as Lakers fan favorite Alex Caruso, Clippers star Patrick Beverly, or even the talent of Golden States star Klay Thompson would definitely bring a bigger pop to the tournament regardless of no fans being in the stands.

As a huge Lakers fan, having the likes of Kyle Kuzma or even Dwight Howard would have been huge taking their comedic personalities in to consideration. I mean, it is supposed to be more about having fun then an actual professional game right? Let’s hope. On second thought, Shaq would have been the golden goose in this thing. I can see his crazy ways now. With that being said, who would you want to see compete in this HORSE Tournament?
