LAFC News: Black and Gold Select Danny Trejo in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft

This year’s MLS SuperDraft was going to be a tricky process for clubs across the country as most of NCAA soccer was postponed due to the pandemic. However, the didn’t stop LAFC from selecting forward Danny Trejo with the 14th overall pick out of Cal State Northridge. 

No not Danny Trejo has in the famous Hollywood actor, though this Danny may be just as exciting. What’s more, is the Machete actor himself welcomed the club’s newest addition on Twitter.

The 22-year-old California native may eventually be able to “slice up defenders” as he was named the 2019 Big West Offensive Player of the Year after scoring 9 goals with 7 assists in 19 appearances. 

He certainly has the talent to do so but will need to be invited to training camp with the club and earn a contract. Trejo has attacking abilities that fit in well with the club. Having a local player on the roster will no doubt excite fans, especially if that player’s name is Danny Trejo.
