Dodgers’ Jake Marisnick Returns from Injury, Bolsters Playoff Hopes

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Jake Marisnick begins rehab assignment after injury setback

In a promising development for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team is witnessing a gradual resurgence of their roster as the playoffs loom just around the corner. The bullpen is receiving valuable reinforcements with the return of pitchers Shelby Miller and Joe Kelly, while the front office has made a bold move by promoting right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt to the majors to fortify their relief corps.

Simultaneously, there’s good news on the offensive front for the Dodgers.

Outfielder Jake Marisnick, a recent addition to the Dodgers’ roster on July 14, has commenced his rehabilitation assignment with the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers. This move, reported by Alex Freedman of the OKC Dodgers, comes after Marisnick was sidelined merely five days after joining the team due to a hamstring strain.

During his brief stint with the Dodgers, Marisnick showcased his potential by making five plate appearances in four games and achieving a commendable 2-for-5 record at the plate.

While Marisnick embarks on his journey back to Los Angeles, the Dodgers faced a worrisome situation when outfielder David Peralta sustained a wrist and elbow injury from a hit-by-pitch incident over the weekend. Fortunately, this injury, though concerning, does not appear to be a severe setback for the team.

Despite the injury woes that have plagued the Dodgers throughout this season, the team continues to position themselves as strong contenders for the World Series, which is set to kick off this October.

With the playoffs on the horizon, the Dodgers are undoubtedly hopeful that their roster will return to full health in time for the postseason. In this regard, Marisnick’s ongoing recovery from his hamstring injury represents a pivotal storyline. While it is likely that he will join the team as part of the taxi squad, he remains prepared to step in should the team encounter any further injuries.
