Dodgers News: Insider Says Gavin Lux Will Be Sidelined For ‘A Long Time’

A source reportedly called the injury “bad.”

The Los Angeles Dodgers are yet to officially announce the status of starting shortstop Gavin Lux. The 25-year-old exited Monday’s game with a right knee injury, that looked pretty bad in the moment.

Lux was carted off the field, and manager Dave Roberts said after the game that he was undergoing tests.

While the team still hasn’t made a formal announcement on the injury, ESPN’s Buster Olney spoke to an ‘industry source,’ who reportedly called the injury ‘bad.’

Olney says the injury will keep Lux off the field for ‘a long time,’ which is not what any Dodger fans want to hear.

Lux was getting set to have a breakout year, finally getting the opportunity to play shortstop, his natural position his entire life.

The Dodgers had high expectations for Lux, who came into camp looking really good and ready to prove the doubters wrong.

At this point, it feels like best case scenario would be Lux missing a few months, and being able to return later in the year. But we’ll know more soon, and will continue to update you on the story.
