Dodgers News: LA Adds Free Agent Shortstop Following Gavin Lux Injury

Dodgers moving quick following an unfortunate Gavin Lux play.

It is still unknown as to just how severe the injury Gavin Lux sustained against the San Diego Padres in Spring Training is. The Dodgers, however, are preparing to have backup just in case he is out an extended amount of time seeing that they have signed Bryson Brigman to a minor league deal not too long after the game.

The signing was first reported by MLB Network Insider Jon Heyman.

Brigson is 27-years-old and has already logged six seasons in the minor leagues. Despite him not having much experience actually playing in the majors, the Dodgers have little time to mull decisions over due to Spring Training games already kicking off.

The Gavin Lux injury is a huge blow to the team and their plans for this season. He was set to have a huge role and even if it’s not a serious injury, he’ll miss important time where he should’ve been getting reps in and building chemistry.

Team manager Dave Roberts spoke about what he knows so far in regards to the severity of Lux’s fall.

“He heard something pop… we don’t know a whole lot right now so he’s on his way to get an MRI,” said Roberts.
