Rams Add Another Weapon, Draft TE Luke Musgrave: NFL Mock

As the Rams look to improve their roster heading into next season, this mock draft sees them bolster the offense for Matthew Stafford.

The Los Angeles Rams, when healthy, are a team that has shown they are contenders not just for an NFC title, but a Super Bowl.

However, when they aren’t healthy? Well, one look at their trainwreck of a 5-12 2022 season is all you need to know about how bad it can get. As they look to bounce back this season, though, they do so with rather limited draft capital and cap space

Their first pick isn’t until the second round, however, it is a high second-round pick due to their poor season. In the latest mock draft from The Athletic, they have the Rams adding another elite offensive weapon with that pick.

Rd. 2 No. 36 – Luke Musgrave – TE (Oregon State)

Luke Musgrave fills a combination of need in the short term and long term for the Rams, as well as falling among the best players available at this pick. He’s 6-6 and 255 pounds, stupid fast for his size and agile, plus a huge target for quarterback Matthew Stafford and whoever comes after him.

While the Rams do have Tyler Higbee, getting younger at the position is never a bad idea. Musgrave finished his career at Oregon State with 633 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 47 receptions, averaging 13.5 yards per catch in his four years.

No, those stats don’t jump off of the page, but if the Rams believe he’s their guy they shouldn’t hesitate to draft him.

Adding him to a system with Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp, and run by Sean McVay, could be the perfect fit for Musgrave in the NFL.
