Paul George Reacts to Russell Westbrook’s Debut With LA Clippers

Paul George was very happy to reunite with his friend.

After weeks of voicing his opinion, Paul George was finally reunited with his good friend Russell Westbrook. Westbrook’s debut came with a game that broke historic records, but also a loss.

Despite the loss, Westbrook put up solid numbers. He had 17 points, 14 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 7 turnovers, and was a +3. There were some questionable defensive moments for Westbrook, but he also hit some clutch three-pointers and layups for the Clippers that should have sealed the game. Regardless, Paul George was very happy with the debut.

“It’s about what I imagined,” George said. “The reason why I was high on Russ on this team… It feels like we’ve done this before.”

Westbrook’s efforts were so appreciated that Clipper fans in the sold-out 19,000-person audience gave him a standing ovation when he checked out in double overtime. It was a moment that Paul George appreciated, knowing just how Westbrook was treated on his previous team.

“It was great to see,” George said. “Glad they embraced them, as they should. He’s a hall of famer, top 75, one of the greatest to ever do it.”

The LA Clippers lost an absolute heartbreaker of a game against the Sacramento Kings in Russell Westbrook’s debut. They had a 99% chance of winning when leading in the fourth quarter, and still somehow found a way to lose. It doesn’t get any easier for LA, as they have the Denver Nuggets up next. This team has done a poor job of closing games all season, and they have only 20 games to figure it out soon.
