Dodgers: MLB Commissioner Addresses Latest Cheating Allegations, LA Looks Fine

The Dodgers are dealing with the fallout of words with no proof.

Name something more iconic than fans of other baseball clubs on social media and them accusing the Dodgers of cheating. Evan Drellich of The Athletic recently dropped a new book where unnamed sources accused the Dodgers of being the “biggest cheaters in the whole [—–] industry.” Of course, Dodger haters took this and ran with it, taking it as gospel.

But, there’s that whole burden of proof think you need to have in these situations.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts definitively denied the allegations earlier this week at Camelback Ranch. He revealed that MLB did investigate the team and that “they came up with nothing.”

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred did the same in a statement to the media in Florida on Friday.

Here are the key points to focus on:

“…there were many allegations about different clubs. We took each and every one of those allegations seriously. We don’t announce when we’re investigating …

“I think it has been without fail, if we find something in an investigation, we discipline and we make that discipline public and usually have written some explanation for why we’re doing what we’re doing. …

“I can tell you, with respect to all the allegations that came in that 2017, 2018 time period, they were all investigated and you know who was disciplined. That’s the best I can tell you about that period of time.”

So, the next time someone tells you tHe dOdgErs chEEteD” online or in person, feel free to share this article and the commissioner of baseball’s words about the matter. One team cheated the way the Astros did. And they got a piece of metal for it.
