Dodgers Player Wives Hilariously Try Sneaky Scare Tactics on Their Spouses

The Dodgers are good at playing baseball; their wives (and one fiancee) are not quite as good at jump-scares.

Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love. For some couples, it’s flowers and chocolate. For some, it’s a fancy night out. And for others, it’s … well, it’s wives trying to scare their husbands.

The Dodgers social media team put out a video of a handful of Los Angeles wives (and one fiancee) trying to get video of themselves scaring their special boys in blue. For the most part, they were unsuccessful.

Dustin May and Daniel Hudson were legitimately startled by their wives. Alex Vesia looked more like he thought his fiancee, Kayla, had fallen and hurt herself. Everyone else was pretty indifferent. Walker Buehler looked at McKenzie like, “What are you doing?” Brusdar Graterol looked at Allison like, “Aww, how cute, you tried to scare me,” and Max Muncy had basically the same response to Kellie.

Maybe the best was Evan Phillips, wearing his “Classic Grit” Dodgers shirt, who went into great detail to Liz about how yes, for sure, she absolutely got him and he just forgot to show it, basically.

Will Smith and Yency Almonte just kept on with their lives, and Chris Taylor finished up with brushing his teeth or whatever he was doing as if it’s totally normal for his new bride to show up wearing a super weird mask.

Of course, there were a few humorless scolds in the comments who have a basic misunderstanding of how sports work, like the guy who said, “Dodgers gotta stop messing around & LOCK IN.” We’ll forgive the team if they don’t lock in until at least when they get to spring training.
