Dodgers News: Keibert Ruiz Has Finally Arrived in Camp

There’s always a lot of storylines to follow along with during Spring Training as new additions try to get acclimated to their new team and prospects try to use this chance to put their name out there. This is especially tru for the Dodgers as guys like Trevor Bauer, Zack Mckinstry, DJ Peters, etc. have all been in the spotlight. When all eyes are locked on these players, it’s easy to forget about others, especially when they’re not present in camp.

Keibert Ruiz has been one of those players as he has been absent for camp during the first couple of weeks. However, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register, Ruiz has finally arrived in camp and is undergoing intake testing. The reason behind the 22-year old’s lat arrival was due to visa issues.

Despite the missed time, Ruiz has been working out on his own to stay in shape and ready for game action. Once he clears all testing, Ruiz will be able to join in on team workouts and possibly get into games as early as next week per Dave Roberts. Although his delayed arrival sets him back in his ramp up for the season, Ruiz is blocked at the Major League level by Will Smith and Austin Barnes. However, don’t count out seeing the young catcher at some point this season.
