LA Roundup: Dodgers Fans Express Their Feelings on the Lack of Baseball, 4 Clippers to Watch in Orlando, and More!
We asked and you answered. The inability of MLB to work out a compromise between its owners and players has been on full display, and fans are not pleased. In a poll we held on Twitter, about 1000 fans responded with their opinion on the possible return of the 2020 season. Overall, the response was pretty split, with some still excited about the possibility of baseball while others have already moved on. For Dodgers fans in LA, it hurts more knowing that Sportsnet LA is finally available for the majority of households with no baseball. At the end of the day, baseball needs to get its act together if it hopes to keep an increasingly weary audience.
The King’s Jeff Carter has had health issues for a while now, and his age doesn’t help him at all. At 35 years old, Carter is nearing the end of his professional career, regardless of health. After suffering a core muscle injury earlier in the season, the team announced that Carter had a successful surgery to repair the damage. He is expected back for next season, but only time will tell how much longer he can prolong his career.
On the basketball side, the Clippers are currently going over their roster decisions for the stretch run. With an emphasis on protecting their players, the NBA has allowed teams 17 roster spots for the Orlando games. For LA, this means the opportunity to bring along some young talent to spell their regulars as they work their way back to 100%. The team has some intriguing talent in the G-League, but we narrowed it down to 4 players who could possibly make the cut as the Clippers go for their first title in franchise history.
As the NBA gets ready for its return, the G-League is also preparing for a new future. They will have a new Elite Team compromised of top high school recruits who chose to forgo the college route. The league is hoping to reach a broader audience and ex-Lakers coach, Brian Shaw, has been deemed the man worthy of leading this new group. Shaw has had his fair share of learning under some of the NBA’s greatest minds, including the one and only Phil Jackson. He is more than deserving and will do his best to mold these young players into future difference makers.

“I just want to help take care of the next generation of baseball. I never even thought about the fact that I never played a game for the Dodgers, or any of that stuff. It never even crossed my mind." https://t.co/PII2HnSRju
