Dodgers News: Kersh Names Who He’d Want To Take Yard Next

Spectrum News 1 anchor Kelvin Washington recently had Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw along with his wife Ellen on his show and touched base on numerous issues.

Kershaw’s Challenge COVID-19 Initiative was praised on how they were able to raise more than $85K for charities along with numerous questions about the upcoming season. When asked about the possibility of the 2020 MLB season starting in June/July Kershaw had this to say:

“I’m ready, I think that sounds great. I hope that’s true, that we can start playing games. I think the best part about that proposal I heard is that they’re trying to get us in our home ballparks so we can play at dodger stadium”

Kershaw also acknowledges having to play in an empty stadium as a result of the current pandemic but is very excited none the less. Washington then asked a pretty hilarious question to Kershaw about what would be more important; winning his own ping pong tournament or choosing who he hit his next homerun off of. Obviously, Kershaw chooses the homer and the pitcher he chooses may or may not surprise Dodger fans:

For you statheads, Kershaw only has 1 career homerun that was back in April 15 of 2009 against the rival San Francisco Giants on Dodgers Opening Day! That still pretty crazy and fresh in my mind. Oh yeah, he also struck out 13 batters and only had 1 hit against him that day in case you forgot.

I can only imagine if Kersh were to take MadBum yard. Do you think we would see another confrontation from a cranky MadBum? The drama writes itself. I can hear Dodger fans screaming already “go get it out of the pool!”. Yes, if you have already forgotten Bumgarner is now with the Arizona D-backs.

Hopefully we get baseball back soon. I miss the drama and heroics of the game. Kershaw is due for his next dinger. Off of a D-back would be sweet, a MadBum D-back would be even sweeter!
