Dodgers News: Ellen and Clayton Kershaw Raised a Lot of Money For Coronavirus Relief

Many people know Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw for the talent and dominance he has brought to baseball over the past decade. With the platform he has gotten over the years, he has turned to give back to those in need with the help of his wife Ellen.

This time of uncertainty is no different as the Kershaw’s have raised over $85,000 for Coronavirus relief in LA as well as in Dallas. They’ve accomplished this through the use of the Kershaw’s Challenge charity that was formed back in 2011. The charity organization encourages people to use their passion or talent to make a difference in the lives of those who are in need.

After raising such an amount, the couple then decided to match the contributions made by everyone doubling the total. The couple was glad to see the overwhelming support that people have had for their campaign.

“We really wanted to figure out a way to address the immediate needs of a couple of our beneficiaries who are serving families due to COVID-19. It has been incredible to see the swell of support from so many people.”

With the money that they have raised the charity will then divide it up and send half of it to the Dream Center in Los Angeles who help the community by serving 13,000 meals a day. The other half will go to the Behind Every Door non-profit in Dallas who provides boxes of essential food supplies for families.

The couple also gave contributors an incentive that they could win a zoom call with Clayton himself.

The Kershaws know that life has recently been filled with fear and uncertainty for many people. So it’s nice to see them try and shine a little light during this dark time.
