The rumored test study involving 27 Major League Teams has begun to move rapidly according to Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly.
Kelly joined the ‘Petros and Money Show’ on AM570 to talk about the advancements being made in the study.
“I know guys on the team who have taken it. Whoever is in California got it, and whoever is out in Arizona… I think that’s good because if they could find out if all baseball players, and all people in general had it, it will make people be able to go back to work a lot faster and get some of the economy working… Some kind of baseball would be good for the world, and if everything was here in Arizona and quarantined, as long as our families were with us players would agree to it.”
From the looks of it, MLB is doing its best to get this done quickly and efficiently. Not only will it help in the fight against the coronavirus, but it could also help speed up the start of the season.
Kelly mentions that players would most likely approve of the Arizona plan as long as their families were with them. While there is much to figure out before any proposal can be taken seriously, this is a promising sign. If MLB can get the approval of its players along with a working plan, we may indeed see baseball this year.
This case study is expected to involve around 10,000 individuals and it sounds like the Dodgers are doing their part to move it along. Hopefully this leads to continued progress in the hope for a salvaged 2020 season.
