Lakers News: Kobe Bryant to be Inducted into Hall of Fame

Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant headlines the 2020 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2020. Bryant will be joined by veterans Tim Duncan, who spent his entire 19-year career with the San Antonio Spurs as well as Kevin Garnett who played for the Minnesota Timberwolves for 14 seasons before being traded to the Boston Celtics in 2007.

Bryant had spent 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers with 5 NBA Championships under his belt along with numerous records such as ranking 4th in NBA history in points with 33,643. Let’s not forget his 2 NBA Finals MVPs and his League MVP for the 2007-08 season. Kobe’s induction into the HOF will definitely be the cherry on top of his illustrious career.

As many fans expected, Kobe is a no-doubter to be placed among the game’s elite. Hall of Fame Chairman Jerry Colangelo had previously stated that Kobe Bryant would be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year before voting even began. The Basketball HOF Ceremony is slated to be during the weekend of August 28-30 with a formal announcement scheduled for Saturday, April 4th. Sadly, the world suffered the loss of Bryant on January 26th as he and 8 others died in a helicopter crash that included his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

Kobe will forever be in the hearts of Lakers and basketball fans forever.
