Dodgers: Dave Roberts Gives Fans An Update on the Team

The Dodgers will not be playing any games any time soon. Major League Baseball issued a mandate to stop all Spring Training games, and Opening Day has been pushed back two weeks. Los Angeles’ manager Dave Roberts took to the social channels to update fans on the action taken by the team in the wake of the coronavirus.

Roberts certainly did not have to take the time to update fans, but it was a very thoughtful gesture. He discussed the plans moving forward, however vague that may be.

In light of what’s going on with the coronavirus, there’s a lot of uncertainty with Spring Training, when the season is gonna start, and I think that we’re all looking forward to it. But the priority has to be you the fans, the players, and everyone in the Dodger baseball community’s health and well-being.

Even with the little information Roberts was able to offer, he made it clear that he understood the frustrations. Some times the “not knowing” is the most difficult part of a situation like this.

I wish I had more information but know that we’re thinking about you guys and are very grateful for all of your thoughts and prayers. Thank you, all the best.

The Dodgers were on track to kick off the season on March 26th at Chavez Ravine against the San Francisco Giants. If nothing changes in this mandate, their first game would be April 9th against the Cardinals in St Louis.
