Dodgers Injuries: Mookie Remains Out, Joc Progressing

The Dodgers’ outfield has taken a little bit of a beating this Spring Training. For the most part, it’s luckily just been the aches and pains of camp that are expected. For Mookie Betts, it was more of a food-related issue. Joc Pederson had a sore side that has kept him out of games, but that is changing.

Joc has not been able to pick up a bat for the Dodgers aside from a few workouts this week. Pederson experienced a side issue earlier in camp and has been slow-played until this point. Him getting into games is a good sign though, even if they are minor league games. At this point, getting consistent at-bats is all he needs to be ready by Opening Day.

Mookie Betts was a late scratch from Friday evening’s lineup. Dave Roberts described the issue as a stomach problem. Betts is once again out of the lineup Saturday and will not play until Wednesday night.

For the Dodgers, this is probably the best-case scenario in terms of injuries. Joc looks to be well on his way back, and Mookie’s issue is hopefully just a case of some bad food. Expect the two outfielders back sooner rather than later.
