Dodgers: Mookie Betts Talks Cody Bellinger, Ping Pong With Kersh

The Dodgers newest right-fielder was introduced at a press conference alongside David Price Wednesday afternoon at Dodger Stadium. In that introduction, Mookie Betts talked about his excitement in playing with his new team, both on and off of the field.

On the opportunity to play alongside fellow MVP Award winner Cody Bellinger, Betts was ecstatic.

He won MVP and it wasn’t by accident. So going out there and playing with him is going to be fun. I’m sure we can just laugh and enjoy this whole ride.

Off the field, it felt like Betts was equally excited to be a part of the Dodgers. When asked about the ping pong table that makes an appearance every Spring Training, Betts knew he would have to bring his A-game. Especially if he wants to best Clayton Kershaw at his game.

We’ll see. I play a little bit, but I’ve definitely heard he’s the best…we gotta go play and see.

Mookie was also not shy to brag about some of his off the field accomplishments as well. As you may or may not already know, Mookie Betts may be one of the best bowlers in all of baseball.

I’ve got a few 300 games. Bowling is the first thing I started doing actually, so I definitely love that and I’ll be doing that out here.

Above all, it really feels like Mookie is happy to be in Los Angeles with the Dodgers and excited to compete. For a guy that has been through a lot the past week, Mookie was present enough to ask every question asked of him, and even stick around for a few extra one-on-ones with reporters.
