The Dodgers have reportedly hired former major league outfielder Greg Golson to be a member of their pro scouting department, according to reporter Robert Murray.
The organization has made a conscious effort this off-season to add to their scouting department and player development staff. Golson reportedly interviewed for multiple MLB teams this off-season for various roles and coaching positions.
Greg Golson, former Phillies and Yankees outfielder, has accepted a position in the Dodgers’ pro scouting department, source said. He interviewed with multiple teams for available coaching positions this offseason.

Golson is just 34 years old and was once upon a time a first-round pick in the 2004 MLB Draft, taken by the Philadelphia Phillies. He played in just 40 career games with the Phillies, Rangers and Yankees from 2008 to 2011. Golson was playing in the Mexican Leagues and independent leagues as recently as last season.
The Dodgers remain one of the most forward-thinking clubs in baseball and their consistently excellent hires for their scouting department and player development staffs bode well for their future and present. Golson will join Driveline Baseball’s Rob Hill as another solid hire for the organization from top to bottom.
