Dodgers Sign RHP Bradley Gonzales to Minor League Deal

The Dodgers have reportedly agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Bradley Gonzales, according to Robert Murray, previously of The Athletic. The young right-hander attended Dallas Baptist University and was an apprentice at Driveline Baseball.

The impact of new hire Rob Hill continues to be felt throughout the organization as the Dodgers are beginning to implement new ideas with their pitchers. They have always emphasized analytics — the right type of baseball to follow — and will reap the benefits in 2020.

Hill was an excellent addition to the developmental staff this off-season and if he can get a hold of pitchers like Clayton Kershaw and Kenley Jansen, he could revitalize their careers. Alex Wood and Jansen have already worked side-by-side with Rob Hill.

Going back to Bradley Gonzales, Dallas Baptist is known as one of the premier colleges for forward-thinking baseball. They have implemented numerous initiatives to make the most of their student-athletes and it has paid dividends. Being a product of DBU, it makes total sense that Gonzales is also a trainee at Driveline Baseball.

This could prove to be a high-upside signing despite being just a minor league deal. It is a good sign for the organization as many more signings like this will follow suit.
