Dodgers: Max Muncy Issues Short Statement About Astros Sign-Stealing

While some Los Angeles Dodgers players have been outspoken on the Houston Astros sign-stealing, others have remained quiet. Although little by little, every current Dodger seems to be slowly weighing in with his thoughts.

Of course, Max Muncy was not a member of the 2017 Dodgers who faced off against the Astros in that epic World Series. Still, Muncy was asked about the Astros’ exploits in cheating at a recent CSUB Hot Stove Dinner. Here is a short clip of his response.

This is what Muncy – the no. 2 first baseman in the game according to MLB Network – says about the Astros:

“It’s hard for me to comment on that because I don’t know all the facts. And no one knows all the facts. So it’s one of those things where if what everyone is saying is true, and they were using devices; then there needs to be some backlash for that.

Until Major League Baseball releases their statements it’s hard to comment on something you don’t fully understand. That’s where I’m at right now. I have my opinions on it, but I don’t like to make comments to where something comes out later that makes you have a foot-in-mouth moment. If it’s something that happened, there should be punishment. But no one really knows.”

Obviously, Muncy chooses to take the diplomatic route in his response here. Truly, there wouldn’t be a lot for Muncy to gain by trashing the Astros; no pun intended.

However, one can’t help but think about how stark in contrast this is to the comments of Dodgers like Cody Bellinger and Alex Wood.

For now, the sharp-dressed Muncy seems focused on moving forward and continuing to emerge as a superstar for the Dodgers. Perhaps we could learn from Muncy – as bad as it stinks – there’s no sense in spending more time looking back. It’s going to forever be in the past.
